I’ve been wanting a floor pouf or two for this corner in our living room…
I came across Loops & Threads Free Spirit Yarn. It was so big and chunky and soft I knew I had to use it for something. I was just playing around with it and started a magic loop and the top of this floor pouf came about.
To fill it I rolled up extra blankets we had and tied some yarn around it to keep it in one solid piece.
I used 2 skeins of Bernat Blanket Tweeds Yarn in a double strand to construct the sides. I got all 3 skeins of yarn for this project for under $30 using Michaels coupons. This pouf would have only taken me 1 day if I didn’t have to keep adjusting the size of the pouf by rearranging the blankets inside and undoing and redoing the sides.
If you would like to make a crochet floor pouf, here are the details: (And if you have never crocheted before, you tube videos really do make great teachers!) Make a ‘magic loop’ with the Free Spirit Yarn. Continue to go around adding stitches until the skein is gone, or stop sooner if you would like to make a smaller pouf.
Then I used a double strand of Bernat Blanket Tweeds Yarn to attach a cylinder around the edges of the top. I kept going until it reached the ground and then I wove yarn through each stitch and pulled it tight to make the cover stay snug on the roll of blankets. This is how it looks on the bottom:
Its rather heavy, but its very sturdy. Our goldendoodle has been claiming it as his new spot.
Happy crocheting your crochet floor pouf!!
