Making something from nothing is one of the most satisfying feelings! I had almost a whole leftover faux brick panel from our faux brick wall project in our garage. My 4 year old little guy has a full size box spring and mattress on the ground as his safe cozy bed… but it was screaming for a little attention. Threw them both together & this headboard was born.
This faux brick headboard was so easy to make… I used the same method of white washing with spackle as I did in the garage. I just lined the back with wood I had leftover around the edges and at the seam. It leans against the wall but has a hollow inside so cords could easily be plugged into the outlets behind it.
If you wanted to make this headboard it would only cost about $30. The brick panel is about $20, wood for the edges, spackle & paint. Done & done!
I made the art above the bed from scraps too. It cost me $0, which just gives me all the happy feels!
I got 2 of these old homemade picture frames someone was getting rid of. Disassembled, cut, and white & gray washed them with paint I had.
I also loved how the silver letters looked against it, so I tried out a galvanized ‘B’ I already had.
Big improvement to this side of the room, cleared out some extra materials from the ‘ol garage & my baby boy was excited. Day made!
