DIY tassel garland is an easy to make decor accessory that will spruce up any space. We made and hung some DIY tassel garland on our little Boho Patio. It adds charm to our little outdoor hangout.
This DIY tassel garland was dreamt up after I finally hung my long awaited patio globe lights and stood back to admire. Drumroll…… ugh, I felt a little let down. They just looked a bit plain and left a little something to be desired. I was picturing a bohemian oasis for this patio space so I thought embellishing with some cream DIY tassel garland made from outdoor cotton twine would up the ante
How to Make DIY Tassel Garland
I picked up some outdoor cotton twine. It was only $2.50 for a ball of it and I only used 2. To make the tassels for the DIY tassel garland, cut a piece of cardboard to the length you would like your tassels. Then just wrap the twine around the piece of cardboard.
Keep wrapping until you’ve got the desired bulkiness and cut the twine from the ball. Then cut along the bottom of the cardboard. Use another piece of twine to wrap around the top of your tassel. You’ll want to string your garland string through the top before you wrap the second piece of twin around the top. Sew4Home has a great tutorial with illustrations of each step I just explained.
I tied the DIY tassels through the staples that hold up the globe lights. I was so excited about the flair these simple DIY tassels added and it only took me a short Hulu binge to finish & hang them! I thought I’d share this simple DIY tassel garland with you in case you are needing some patio inspiration or want to add some boho vibes to your abode with this quick, easy, inexpensive embellishment.
